Is it auntie something or your name??
(I know it is ultimately up to me what I tell them but just want to find out what is the usual...iyswim)

Back home we used to call everyone in the nurseries etc auntie and then their name so I would be auntie Nicole...

is that what is happening here?

i want them just to call me by my name.

auntie always reminds me of old friends of my parents that we had to call auntie even though they werent!

my mindees are all under the age of 18months so i get called with a grunt or i do get mumma or my eldest calls my winny (my names lynsey). When they do start talking i think i'll just get them to call me by my name.

Deb generally, but the 4 year old I have most of the week calls me Grandma a lot. One of my minding friends is nearing retirement and everyone refers to her as mama - she has been minding over 25 years now; I like that.:)

Just my name, except one who calls me "mummy" she has Down's and because she hears my kids call me that she calls me it too. She calls me it all the while since she started in sept, I ignore her when she calls "mummy" until she says "Sandra". She knows that if I don't answer her she has to call out my name then I do.

I would love to be called "auntie" especially with the littlest one, who I have had since she was 12 months, she is now 20 months and she loves me to bits.

When I was growing up our neighbour and friend used to look after me, and we always round each others houses. I called her "auntie Via" and I still do. even though she is a friend she is more of an Aunt to me than my own real Aunts and I love her very much.

So I would like the littlest one to feel the same about me as I do my Auntie Via..

One calls me 'Guggy', she couldn't say 'Jenny' when she started to talk. And it kinda stuck. The others call me Jen/Jenny... although my little brightspark of 3 calls me 'Jenniflower' and 'Jen Jen' too, after he heard my hubby call me this

My son is called Sam and my little one calls him Mam,
she also calls me Mangy :)

if they call me mum or grnadma i just laugh and say i'm Mandy, i certainly wouldn't be aunty anyone for my mindees, bad enough being aunty to my neice and nephews. ( makes me feel old)

One of mine calls me Julie Wulie although not all the time when shes being funny.

I don't like the idea of them calling me Mum and if my child went to a childminders I'd be upset if she called her Mum. There is one childminder round here who has a mindee who calls her Mum and she never corrects her when I say to her do you not say to her your not Mum your XXX she shrugs her shoulders and smiles!!!

Most of mine just use my name, but one of my mindees is a close friend and is our Godson, so he calls me Auntie and some of the others copy. I think it may stick and I think if the parents are happy with it then so am I.

i'm dreading it. being call Angelique, too much of a mouth full for most adult!!! kids around call me lola's mum for a while and older ones have now adopted the angelique!
when Lola was at her childminder she sometimes called her nanny because she had her grandchildren so she just copied the other kids!

we'll see. froggie, oye, you.... pmsl!!!!

As a child I resented having been told to call people unrelated to me Auntie etc., so I wouldn't expect any other child to have to do this. Through their choice most of the children call me Nanny by my given name.
