A friend of mine is thinking of registering and asked me what the process is. I had to say I haven't got a clue as it's so long since I did it & an awful lot has changed since then.

Where do you start? What stages do you go through?

Thank you!

For me it was Dec-Mar

Phoned childminding matters who put me down for the briefing meeting in Dec
Decided to go for it and applied for the ICP course
Got on the ICP course and began 26th Feb (6weeks once a week + saturday Child Protection) now finished it all and waiting to sit exam on the 23rd April
Posted my application form before started ICP
2 weeks later Ofsted visited for Pre Reg home visit
CRBs took 16 days
Certificate arrived on 16th March :clapping:

(i already had a current first aid certificate but i got a place on the february course which i turned down to allow someone to do it)
