Fire extinguisher?

When i trained 2 years ago the only requirement was a fire blanket, but i have heard now that u have to have an extinguisher as well.

Is this right?
If so what kind?

NO i don't think you need one. I only have a fire blanket and that was fine with Ofsted last year . Unless of course it's changed..........:rolleyes:

I too only have a blanket....dont think anything has changed, but please correct me if i'm wrong:)

Last year the fire men came to see us and give the house a fire safety check and install smoke alarms for us. We had a fire extinguisher and he said they advised people not to have them as people often panic when using them! We have a fire blanket instead now.
