Hi does anyone know where i can find a simple story of easter and also st georges day to explain to young children what its all about please? Ive looked on a few sites and i hardly understand it myself never mind a nearly 4 and 5 yr old lol :)

Easter is a tricky one to explain really because little one's don't get death particularly well, never mind rising again and all that entails. I tend to go with the more updated aspects of Easter with little ones and wait for them to get to Year 1 at school before talking about the ins and outs of what happened to Jesus (who, after all, was a baby in a manger just a few months ago if you're 3 or 4).

So we talk about Easter bunnies, Easter cakes, Easter eggs etc.

For st George's Day it helps if they are into dinosaurs... or playing rescuing maidens and brave knights. Then you can focus on that and make something up.

there is a school site (sorry cant remember the school just now, but someone may be along who does) and that has child friendly stories on not sure about 4/5yr lds though
