Hiya

There has probably been a post on here regarding Rising 5's so sorry if I'm repeating a post.

I wanted to be clear about Rising 5's, as my son will be going to full time school next Jan 2010.

As I understood it he would be classed as a Rising 5, term time and in the holidays.

I have a friend who is also not sure regarding this, she called Ofsted this morning and they said basically Rising 5's has been scrapped now.

Does anyone know about this?

I'm sure there is alot of childminders out there that do not know about it or are my friend and I the only ones?

Sam xx

PANIC OVER! Sorry.

I have contacted Ofsted myself and Rising 5's has not been scrapped. God knows what Ofsted was telling my friend.

Sorry for scaring everyone.

Once your son is in full time school even if he is still four he is counted an an over five in respect of your numbers in term time and the holidays.

I have a lad before and after school, he started in reception in Sept 2008, he won't be 5 until Aug 2009 but he counts as five as far as my numbers are concerned. Which means he released an an five space for me to fill.
