I just feel that it is a shame that we are working very hard to get registered and then even harder once there are mindees in the house and people don't realise!!

My best friend refers to me as her 'sitter!!! I have her kids on an ad hoc basis if she has chance of extra hours at work and if I have space!!! Drives me mad too but I just grit my teeth and get on with it!!!!

I was asked yesterday by a friend if the kids I looked after was for missionary work  ... she knows I don't have my own kids and knows I look after them in my own home... and to her all childcare takes place in a nursery... ;)

My father in law always asks how my babysitting is going. I then sit there and bore him with all the paperwork, hard work etc that goes into my full time job. He always apologises as I make a big deal (in a jokey way) that I'm NOT A BABYSITTER, I'M A CHILDMINDER!

I had one of my dads friends ask me wether if he and his wife wanted to go out one night could he give me a tenner to come over and babysit - is that how it works
I told my dad and he said "whats the problem" :panic:

I would have said make it £25 and you got yourself an insured, qualified childminder for the evening:D

my hubby use to think it was easy but soon changed his mind when he had a day off and we had 6 under 5 here.

he did apologise and say that he didn't realise how hard we worked and that we deserved a medal especailly as k was having an off day and was a little madam all day
