The statutory early learning goals (detailed below) establish expectations for most children to reach by the end of the EYFS. They provide the basis for planning throughout the EYFS, so laying secure foundations from birth for future learning. .

Educational programme

Children's creativity must be extended by the provision of support for their curiosity, exploration and play. They must be provided with opportunities to explore and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings, for example, through a variety of art, music, movement, dance, imaginative and role-play activities, mathematics, and design and technology.

Early learning goals

By the end of the EYFS, children should:

Respond in a variety of ways to what they see, hear, smell, touch and feel.

Express and communicate their ideas, thoughts and feelings by using a widening range of materials, suitable tools, imaginative and role-play, movement, designing and making, and a variety of songs and musical instruments.

Explore colour, texture, shape, form and space in two or three dimensions.

Recognise and explore how sounds can be changed, sing simple songs from memory, recognise repeated sounds and sound patterns and match movements to music.

Use their imagination in art and design, music, dance, imaginative and role-play and stories.

Thanks Angel

If the eyfs is exactly the same as the foundation stage in terms of what children have to achieve why didn't the powers that be just say that

It would have been a whole lot easier to understand

Thanks for taking the time to do this

But Miffy, then they would have had to admit that all they did was take the Foundation Stage and add 'Early Years' to the beginning :D
