I'm doing these tomorrow. I wonder which version we'll end up with!!!:panic: Especially as there will be three mindees 18mth, 21/2 and 3. Wish me luck.

I only have a 4yr old mindee tomorrow. Iced fairy cakes with cherries on top for us!

Were these the sainsburys recipie ones? We did them yesterday, and I said to the 3 kiddies to squish them into balls! They were so sticky they just ended up all over their hands, and wouldn't come off... Definatley no 'head' shapes... One little boy said it was a skeleton - not really the look I was going for!

In the end I have to muster up the balls & get them to stick the bits on.

Very yummy though...

They are great!!

I am going to make some ckaes today. Cupcakes with icing and a cherry. Just need something to use for eyes. Any ideas? I have not currants or food colouring:rolleyes:

We have just made the same ones!!!!!OMG sticky or what:eek: I used the Sainsbury recipe next time i think we will give the marshmallows a miss:laughing: I've practicly had to peel the children off the table!

I wish i could put a picture on here :blush:

I made them today but OMG the mess! Done get me wrong I am used to messy play with paint, gloop, flour, water etc, but I think I'll need WD$) to clear the mellow stringy bits off my kitchen worktops :(

Do you think the examples shown in the recipe were as sticky ? because they look glossy and a perfect dome shape in the picture.:rolleyes:

we made red rice crispy cakes today for comic relif to sell at my kids school

they were great and no mess


melt butter add golden syrup and strawberry saurce and red food colouring mix in rice crispys

spoon into cake cases and refridgerate

job done

Yes they were very sticky you were right to avoid them

The little girl was picking them off her arms on the first pic ha

I got called in to do a creche session so we didnt have time. Kind of glad I didnt now - lol.:laughing:
