yep I deal with shift workers

I operate on flexi fees with them as both parents are on a 3 wk rota that do not always slot in with eachother so some weeks I have little one 5 days a wk others I might not see him at all but 3 days are paid for minimum a wk.

I offer my usal opening hours 7:30 - 6:00 with an additional 30 mins if eneded for the shift child only which parents have never had to use. most of the time it works out that I only have him until 4pm.

Try to be flexible but within your working hours.

If they pick up at 4 do you still charge to 6?

no I charge by the hour with them

on the wks i dont see him they pay £10.00 a day as a retainer making it 30.00 a wk for not working, i know this is too low but its how I do it.

you need to sit and decide what income you need, way it up with the shift patterns if you know them, come up with a fee that you can manage whether is an hourly fee or a full week but also be practical to parents needs too.

on a full week he is here 11:30 - 4 making £70 a wk, 4 - 6 are charged at £4.00 an hour my usual hourly fee and the same if he needs to come to me before nursery too.

I have alot of part timers on my books hence the low retainer fee when I'm not needed. dont leave yourself out of pocket.

I have two children on shift

Week 1 is 7.45 - 2.30 and Week 2 is 1.00 - 6.00 and I charge a flat rate of £25 per day.

Week 1 is 9.30 - 4.30 and Week 2 is 1.30 - 5.30 and I charge £30 for Week 1 and £25 for week 2

I have worked in the past from 7-2 and 1-7 but that was too much as mine were babies.

TBH in this day and age with the way the economy is, i can't be too picky.

i have to be able to provide a roof over my kids heads and food on the table, and i'll work whatever hours i have to

and in my last job i worked until 9.30pm didn't get home until 10pm so having kids up to this time is no different really, but i'm at home with my kids :clapping: and THATS what makes it worth it for me :D
