So I've been thinking more about my little portugese mindee which will start with me in April. He mum mentioned he generally has a sleep after his lunch (which he has at 11am). He is two years old and will have around an hour. I have a playroom which will also become a sleeping room for any mindees need a nap but my question is, what will he sleep in? Presently, I have a travel cot but will he be too grown up for this? Ideally dont want to bring the single bed down from the loft as it will clutter the playroom.

Any advice?

Morning,
not sure, the boy i'm going to mind is two also, i was thinking if he's too big for my travel cot, either the couch or his buggy? are they allowed to sleep in buggys? not really liking the idea of having a bed in my front room:panic:

After speaking with the mum last week, she said she wasn't keen on R sleeping in his buggy as that's what put her off the nursery she looked at  Hmmmm... not sure what to do!

What about a readybed, small camping style bed or a blow up mattress?

If he's still sleeping in a cot at home, I would put him in the travel cot.
If he's sleeping in a bed can you get a blow up bed, like a readybed for him to sleep in?

I have a small travel cot and a super large one, for differing ages.

yeah, ready beds are a good idea, might do that, don't take up much room either

I still keep looking as these, http://www.nesarnold.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10101&storeId=62&productId=359872&langId=-1&search=true will probably get one when I have a mindee in that age group.

My 3 year old is still in a travel cot. It keeps him in too.

Well yes, this was another thing I was wondering, if he was in a readybed, he could well get out whereas a travel cot, well, unless he cuts a hole in the side, he aint escaping, lol

I would go with the travel cot.

I had a 2 yr old girl last summer who slept for almost 2 hours. I asked Mum if she was in a cot at home and she said Yes. I said that I had a travel cot and would she be ok in this and she said Yes.

I like the idea of a Readybed but unless they are going to be put to bed and stay there, you will be chasing him around trying to keep him in there!!!

I'd go with a travel cot too. Though those stackable beds look great - and a good price too

I had a two year old who broke a travel cot by standing up and jumping on it, it broke the base. On the other hand I have two year olds who are fine.

I have two ready beds which I use for the two to three year olds on the floor in the sitting room. It is safe because it is used for minding and I keep the door shut. It is also close to the room I am in when they are asleep so I can hear them. I must say they took to them very well and don't tend to get up until I go in so sucess.

As they get bigger I had thought to get a couple of the NES Arnold ones as well.

We had a Lidl catalogue yesterday and in it they had the fold out foam cushion beds for £20.00 I thought that they would be really handy for Childminding and sleep overs.
