Hi, I know you are supposed to keep your receipts for any food/drink that is purchased for childminded children but what happens if you buy fruit, veg, eggs, meat and fish from the local market. They just don't have that facility do they? Is it good enough to say you purchased it on this date, time, where it was from. The stalls are reputable and have food hygeine certificates displayed and everything is very fresh. Things like milk and the things I buy in the shop I can keep receipts for but this little question just popped into my head. Any thoughts?:)

Hello,
I often buy meat and veg from my local butcher and ask him to write me a receipt which he always does. I'm sure all market stall holders will have a receipt book, most of the open air markets I have used have all given me a receipt.:)

If you can't get receipts, I suggest you contact your local Environmental health and ask them what they want you to do.
