My new little 16 day old mindee started today and she's gorgeous :)

This is the first time in my life I've ever looked after a baby girl. Not that she's much different from looking after a baby boy - except that you don't get 'fired upon' in the eye when changing nappies

Her mum is doing college courses so unfortunately she doesn't get maternity leave. It must be hard parting from baby when she's so young. Baby is the sister of my 2 year old mindee and both are part-time (14 hours a week). They're only here for 2.5 hours today, which is a nice gentle introduction.

Yes, she's tiny beyond belief :)

Aww bless...I am sooo jealous!..I looked after a LO from 13 days & had her till she was 8 1/2 months & she took up her daycare place (daycare location was more convenient for Mum & was only a short term contract till daycare had a place).... I loved it! Enjoy her!:)

Oh I so wanted a little girl when I started minding, I ve got 2 boys of my own and my neice is almost 13 now, so doesnt want to dress up in sequins and pretty pink sparkly dress up stuff and play with the dolls etc:(
L is my almost 5 yr old mindee, she is sooo a tomboy boy it almost hurts IYKWIM, she doesnt do pink, or sparkly stuff, escept glitter on xmas cards etc
her fav colour is blue, doesnt like othergirls, she only plays with boys at school,
and doesnt like dolls etc:(
My other mindees are all boys too..
Oh well maybe one day..

Oh tiny babies are so lovely! I would have liked a girl of my own, but instead I have two boys which are also lovely. I don't think they're appricate being dressed up in pink princess dresses with their hair all tied up with bows and ribbons though...

I had maternity leave while at college, if she is bothered there are people she can talk to to get it arranged but she may have to start her course however far through she is the next time the course starts. I was lucky mine was a role-on role-off course so I could just pick up where I left off. But if it's only part time it might be a nice break from a newborn etc.
