"Shock" Crayola paints

They really stain!!! 3 of my mindees either has green hands or dark blue!:panic:

ive washed them 3 times and nothing budging!!

i thought crayola of all paints would be ideal foe kids!! what do i tell the parents??

Yep, i made this mistake on valentines with red crayola paint they all went home with red!!!!! :eek:

Oh I know!! One of my lo's went home with bright green hair once :eek:

Luckily mum had sense of humour!

I took mine back to Asda where I bought them from.... I now use ELC ones!

Reminds me of the 'washable' felt tip pens I bought for my 2yr old and guess what they weren't washable at all!! A long soak in the bath and they eventually faded to a lighter shade of red!! :angry:

I have never had a prob with the pens I think they are fab :thumbsup:

I use elc paint too, comes off everything :thumbsup:

I made the same mistake a while ago. My now 19 month old mindee had just turned 1 when i thought they would be great to do his handprint with. I used baby wipes, soap and water. Nothing worked. Took his mam a few day's to get it all off him. lol

I've got some of those too and they are a nightmare to get rid off!:eek:

I know on most 'normal' paints, if you put a bit of washing up liquid in with the paint it comes off easier

I wrote to Crayola last year or the year before about this, the reply I got was "get the children to use a brush or buy the paints exspecially for hand painting !!!!!!":angry:

Like all young children start off with a brush and then use their hands, so were getting stained hands. After cheeky reply I dont use them now, but they did send some freebies to keep me quiet!:laughing:

I will write to them too lol will tell them that childrens paint should be washable

I stick to ELc paints because they wash off without any bother :thumbsup:

Yeah we also found this out to! I found it really annoying, I even added washing up liquid to it before painting but it made no difference.

I have now also been converted to ELC paint :)

I know never to buy Crayola paints now. You wouldn't have thought they would stain if there were for kiddies would you:rolleyes:

One of my parents got really upset about one of my LO's getting crayola paint on a t-shirt. We always use Tesco's paint it comes out OK.

I know this is a old thread but OMG I used this paint today and the kids have gone home with multicoloured hands :blush: It wont come off! I won't be using that again, ever!

Shaving foam will often bring the worst staining out of little hands, and without all the scrubbing and tears too.
Maybe you could plan a shaving foam play session for after each paint session.
