I currently have a spreadsheet (my accountant BIL has created for me) that I fill in, I have my diary which is my paper copy do I really need a separate bank account as well. Seeing as I get paid in cash at the moment, due to mindees being temporary or part time I tend to have spent it before it reaches the bank. Its just I already have 3 bank accounts with my bank, I think I would have to really justify what the other one was for and they might not like the idea its for a business.

My cash never makes the bank either.

I have an accounts sheet that I note down all incomings on and they match with my bills / attendance records etc.

I don't think it's a problem so long as you can clearly show what you are earning.

As long as your money is recorded in your books it doesn't matter where you keep it.

I have my own bank account and put any money in/out as I decide. No need for a business bank account that I can see, unless your accountant can think of one.
