My CRB form, which has been stuck at stage 4 for the last few weeks, finally arrived in the post today. Hubby's arrived last week. I called up Ofsted, all excited about finally being able to get started, only to be told that they are still waiting on Social services to come back to them, they apparently have a backlog so I will just have to wait. Why does everything have to take so long??? Sorry, just needed to have a bit of a rant. Is there anyone currently going through registration in Hertfordshire who is having the same problem?

Yay on getting your disclosures back! Such a shame you have to wait for SS checks though.

I'm just below you, in Enfield, waiting forever for hubbys crb checks:mad:

Hurrah, well done on getting your CRB's back  Get them put with your certificates to show parents.

Sorry to hear it's Social Services now dragging their heels. You'll get there soon enough, I did :clapping: Then the next big task is securing mindees :p

I am in Bristol and have the same problem Ofsted said social services have had the forms for 9 weeks so they are checking it regulary to see if it comes back, but they dont seem in a hurry to chase it, so I have started calling Ofsted every 2 days . They might get fed up of me then and do something about it.

Hi everyone and thank you for cheering me up. Yes, Ofsted said my forms have been with SS for 10 weeks now so they sent a chase letter but they say there is nothing else they can do. I have been calling Ofsted daily over the last week or so but it seems to be someone different I speak to each time so they don't seem too bothered. Guess I just need to be patient. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting - we'll get there eventually!!

mine was really quick but that was back in 2005

Where in Herts are you? if you are close to Broadfield school they have an excellent childrens centre there offering support for childminders in the area. I'm sure other childrens centres are just as good but thats the one I use.

Hi, I'm in Markyate (off the A5). Is Broadfield school in Dunstable? There is a new childrens centre in Redbourn which is not too far away but I didn't realise I could use it before registration. Might go along there and have a chat. Thanks for that! :)
