I was thinking of getting a food probe - but now I am going to ask parents to provide all meals and snacks - do I still need to register as a food business if I dont provide the meals etc.?
And should I be probing meals that I reheat when the parents provide them?

Got my food probe from Lakeland Limited as reheated foods need to reach a temp of 75 degrees. I think it was about £7 ish. :)

Yep you still need to register as a food business even if you don't cook food, just opening their lunch box is enough!!

I bought one from Lakeland about £2.99, you can shop on line, but bought mine when I went to Newquay last year.

I got call from Enviromental Health officer last wednesday to come and look round my kitchen even though I don't cook meals anymore only do Snacks, but said he needed to come out anyway to see how I prepare the snacks. He was only here 15mins. Got the ok:thumbsup:

Said I'd get a written report but was nothing to worry about, as they look more into depth with people who cater for more than 25 people.

Does this vary in different areas? We were told in Poole it was not necessary to register. Now I am confused.
