Hi Ladies

I used to look after a little boy and his parents told me that there's a craft warehouse near Pen Green Lane in Corby where you can pay £10 and fill a trolley up with as much craft supplies as you like. She said Childminders can sign up for big discounts.

I've never been and don't know exactly where it is as I'm fairly new to the area and as I don't look after the little boy anymore, I don't want to be cheeky and call them to ask! I just wondered if anyone else has been and could tell me whereabouts it is. I was going to go tomorrow, so any feedback would be great!:)

I've heard of it too but I'm not sure where it is. I know when I was at school (years ago  ) our teachers used to go there and come back with lots.

I've been to Pen Green a few times recently and found the staff really helpful. Perhaps just give them a call, hopefully the receptionist will know about it.

That gives these details but the website at the bottom doesn't seem to work:

Thanks Pauline.

I found the place today but it was a bit strange. We had to ring a buzzer outside but no one answered the door. There was a car and a van parked outside with " Northamptonshire Children’s Resource Centre" written on the side, so I think there was someone in there. But no one answered the door or answered the phone when we called. Perhaps they're closed for half term? :(

It's a small world

Our scrapstore is about £15 or £20 to join for a year (i think) and you can go as often as you like to get what ever they have in at the time.

Lots of paper/card/carboard tubes from carpets/offcuts of stuff etc

My local CM group might join.

hi aimee it's shut down now dont think it got used to it's fullest potential and was a bit hit and miss with what you got as its a recycling centre not a craft superstore, it was stuff donated from local business's, paper, lids, plastic bits and bobs. you used to be able to buy paint and crayons etc but they were pretty expensive

I have been to the new centre in Raunds lots of times over the last few months - it is brilliant !!! It's not expensive at all - only £10 to become a member for a year and then you buy tokens dependant on how many times you think you might want to visit. It can work out about £3 for a trolley FULL of great stuff!! They have card, paper, fabric, brand new kids books, ribbon.....loads of stuff to use with children! Well worth a visit. They also have a shop with really good deals on toys, furniture, cleaning stuff....I can't say enough about the place - staff are really friendly. If you haven't been yet then go NOW !!!!!

Its £10 to join we have joined as a group and £10 per visit to fill 2 trollies if you buy £50 worth of tokens (as they call them) it works out to £5.00 per visit or £2.50 a trolly. if you google the phenix centre you can see for yourself
and yes its well worth a visit :)

Also been to the one in Raunds.

Brilliant for craft stuff, paper, card, buttons, paints, glitter and lots of junk modelling stuff, material and lots of other of strange things which you really have to think what to do with it.

Also have foreign language book which you could translate.

Prices quoted are right, well worth it but you do need some room to store it.:)
