Hi,

I have a 1 year old son, and I am minding a 2yr old at the moment! I have been approached by 2 more families who are looking for the same day for their little ones.

Fortunately, this is my husbands day off always, so would he be able to take charge of our son so I could then have the 3 mindees on this 1 day? Would I have to tell ofsted or does it not matter so long as I am not left with all 4?

Thanks!:)

Even if ds is looking after your little one you have to adhere to what it says on your certificate unless you ask ofsted for a variation :)

Yes you do need to apply to ofsted for a variation. Give them a ring and see what they need. Some areas they need a letter and in others they ask you to fill in a form that they send out.
Unfortunately you will currently be registered for 2 under 5's as ofsted count your son in your numbers at all times.

you can only have as many as your cert states hun .. your son is included in your numbers even when not in your care

Yeah as the others have said you'd need a variation, good luck

Remember, what would you do if dh was sick or was unexpectly called into work?

Thanks for all your replies! I will contact them to see what they say! Also would it be easier to have DH as an assistant on that day or just keep him looking after our son? Would we be able to take on more then, on that day if the need arose? Thanks for your help!
