This is an interesting leaflet from Ofsted explaining the new Childcare Registers...

http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/assets/Internet_Content/Shared_Content/Childrens/files/changestochildreg.pdf

And... I picked up another interesting piece of information in my browsing... after school and out of school clubs will have to implement EYFS as well!

Which suggests, to me (but I might be wrong, so don't quote me), that we will have to do it with our after schoolers in that age bracket... slightly worrying if we only have a child an hour a day!

What do you all think? :D

I've sent them both,not a problem!

If you go on the Ofsted website and ask it to search for 070210 it comes up as well... it's called 'Changes to Childcare and something...'

We have been advised that we need to carry out the EYFS for all children up to 31st Aug following 5th b/day (i.e. 'young child'), however you should carry it out:

1, in proportion to how much time you have them and

2, by complimenting what they do at school (i.e. reading school book, helping with homework, talking about school projects etc). If you start trying to do too much with them this could been seen as not complimenting what they do at school as they will be shattered and maybe be more tired at school tomorrow iyswim.

The number of obs you do in a month should, for example be proportionate to the number of hrs you have a child if that makes any sense at all.
