Ofsted rang last night at 5.30pm to say that she would be with me in the morning at 09.30am OMG!!!!!!!!! Panic Stations.Told her that I had not completed my SEF online and she said "well you do have 6 months to prepare for our visit!!" Great start. So I lied and said I had it all down in writing and she said that would be fine. Got all my paperwork out,Childrens books and started my SEF at 9.30pm (completed it at midnight)!!!
She arrived on the dot only to be pushed out the door by my 2 year old screaming cos he thought his friend had come to play!! aghhhhh. But all went ok. I had 1 mindee (16 months) and my own son. I had an activity planned to make a music shaker with dried pasta and rice and we decorated it with paper and stickers (of which most were put on the inspector by the LO's)!! and we got out the music box and played instruments and had a snack.
She was impressed with all the paperwork and considering I have not been on an EYFS training course yet and only been registered for 6 months she loved the EYFS work I had done (*****she did say that she is sick of seeing pics of little ones at the zoo or park with a note saying "john had fun at the park" she said that she wants to see the children pointing in amazement to a big tree or watching intentley at a cow being milked etc.....and then this can be re looked at in the book some months later with the children and we should then note their comments on how they remembered the smell of the farm or the colours of the tree etc.....to show their progression******) Hope that makes sense.
Anyway despite the cold reception from my son and her managing to get stuck upstairs behind the stairgate she gave me a "good" grade so I am very chuffed and thanks to everyone who has helped me on this site.....It paid off in the end. Who said Friday the 13th was unlucky xx
