DHC Unit 4 Section 'C'

Hi All
I'm doing Unit 4 and I have had a brain freeze on section C.:(
Explain the importance of respecting and valuing different family structures.
I have listed the different types of family structures and how they are made up. I have tried to explain how important it is for CM's to gain information and knowlege of the childs family background, religion and cuture.
But now i'm stuck.
Please help! Any sugestions welcome.:idea:

i am also doing dhc unit 4 try going into the benifits for the child, the parent and the practitioner as seperate headings. i have brain freeze on D do you have any hints

I am not doing the DHC yet, so I really am not one to point out what it should be, I have no idea:blush:
But have you tried searching the internet with that question, you may find lots of different things to put down on paper!:idea:

Hi Jeni

I explained why confidentiality was essential. and that it can only be broken on two occasions.
1) If parents give permission
2) If essential in the interest of the child ie; Medical emergency or child protection.

I then gave examples of what information could be given, how and when.
