Sensory Basket...

Hi all you girls, I started doing a sensory basket about a mth or so ago.......Ive put together a few bit, but it would be gr8 if all u very supportive girls could give me an idea of want u have in urs and where i could purchased stuff from, I would really like to get hold of a space blanket and mirror balls........:)

Tesco do space blankets.

I have a variety of things in mine including:

shells
starfish
chamois leather
brushes
russian dolls
wooden bowls
fabrics (different textures and colours)
pegs
small mirrors ( from a comapny called mungai mirrors I think)
ball of wool
chain
tins
loofah
sponge
crampons linked together
bell
massage roller
keys
leather wallet
pumice stone
smooth pebbles
cardboard tubes

cant think what else at the minute but basically anything I find that looks like the kids may find it interesting. I get stuff from all over the place, charity shops, car boots, the pound shop, hardware stores.

my hubby work in a security compagny and gave me keys BEFORE they're cut so thereis no sharpe bits. I don't know if it's been done before but i'm sure that if you go to a key cutter and explain thatit's for babies blablabla with big smile you could have some freebies!:D

You can put anything non plastic in them that will give children a sensory experience ... the contents are only limited by your imagination :D
