In your area

http://live.ofsted.gov.uk/outstandingproviders/index.cfm?fuseaction=outstanding200708

Might be useful if you want to trawl for your nearest ones and see what the inspector is picking up on and liking:)

i am trawling through, making a list of what the inspector(s) seems to highlight and then seeing if it is applicable to my practice, if not why not - what do i do instead.... etc.

Can you tell i am out to get an outstanding this time round (probably setting myself up for a fall though:rolleyes: )

My local Pre-school is on the list. My little girl was there when they had their inspection last year.
it is a fab pre-school though. they really deserved their grade.

it's only 2007-2008 so not all childminders around really and no EYFS yet!!! but one day i'll be onthis list!!!!!! not 2009 as i'm pre-reg, so not 2010 as they won't give it to me at 1st inspection i'm sure, so watch out 2012-2013!!!! i'm coming pmsl

Well I know for a fact that my local pre-school got an outstanding grade last year but they are not on the list. No other childminders in my area are on the list - I wonder how long it takes before the list is updated.

I've just been on to see my Outstanding and it's not on yet, looking through it seems a bit out of date. People used to get a certificate does anyone know if that still happens? it would be nice

I have just had a letter from Ofsted re mine saying that they are in the process of analysing the outstanding provider data and that they will contact me shortly as they begin despatching the certificates & paperwork.Hope this helps.

I'm actually on the list for my area, but seen as I got it over 3 years ago (my inspection was due last Nov) extremely worried about loosing the grading coz under EYFS its all quite different. Any tips from new outstanders would be greatfully received!:panic:

sorry  everyone i didn't realise it was a little out of date

if you go back a page then use the search facility for your area it should bring up the relevant up to date materials. i have found the one and only outstanding minder in our area and I know that is recent. (have printed it and going to use that as a basis for some of my SEF and comparables. and it was the same inspector as i had:thumbsup: )
