i have a mum coming in an hour to sign contracts and introduce the kids to my setting, the kids already know me and my kids

but

do i offer them a cuppa? do i sit them on the sofa or in the dining room while we go over forms??

:panic:

good luck, i always try and offer a cuppa and we usually sit on the sofa to do forms but depends on where you feel comfortable. xxx

cuppa and biscuits and I'd sit on the sofa its more relaxed.

Don't worry you will be fine.

I too offer a cup of tea/coffee. I try to keep it as relaxed as possible!
Do it whatever way you are comfortable with.
Good luck!

:panic: this is my first set of parents

i have gone through all my forms to make sure i have everything sorted to look professional

how do you broach the subject of fee's??

I offer them a cuppa in my adult cups that are specially designed not to spill - bit like a baby's tommee tippee. They show the parent how I keep their children safe from hot liquid (but takes the roof off the drinker's mouth)

Be positive when talking about fees, you are worth it, infact think of it as you are offering them a bargin!!

I would be prepared to send some forms home, the ones I have the for older children to fill out to tell me what they like to do, eat, etc I couldn't get filled out, think she wanted to do it with mom without me there so sent it home.

Fees are a main part of it all.
I do leave showing the fees until last but don't be shy - builders tell you how much, hairdressers tell you how much (and you give a tip to them!!!!!).

I don't offer a discount and 1 set of parents bring three children to me.

yeah i have some forms for them to take away for mum to fill out but they are for the 4 year old, need one for the 8 year old :panic:

As long as you have the basics (contract signed) you can say to the parent that you will prepare all the other relevant stuff for them - say you don't want to bombard them.

Plus, the 8 year old could possibly write down their likes/dislikes etc themselves (if that's the type of form you are talking about).
