Mindee, toddler son and myself were watching Big Cook Little Cook a few weeks back and they were cooking for a fireman. Anyway, I thought 'ahh, this is a good time to talk to them about fire safety', so out came Frances the Firefly book. To cut a long story short, it's about a firefly who's too young for his bottom to light up naturally, so a naughty bug suggests he lights a match. Anyway, he drops it, the forest catches on fire and burns all the little insects/characters in the book (ants, bees, bugs etc). At the end of the story, I was asking mindee questions about the story and asked why we should never play with matches. Her reply? "because it burns the bumblebees wings". Bless :)

Hi,

Was just letting you know, I had a very old copy of Frances the Firefly and read it to my DD 2 1/2 yrs, she loved it!

Great for Childminding now too

I recently had the Fire Safety services round to do a check etc and we happened to be talking about this and she came back and dropped me 6 copies off the same day!!

Its worth ringing them up and asking for some!

Great about youtube though, will check tat when pick mindee from nursery!

thanks
