Could anyone help me please? I am not yet registered. The forms I need to send are filled in but I want to make sure I'm ready before i do. I have looked at the risk assessment forms and have altered a Bromley one to fit in with my home. This is going to sound silly i know but....what do i write in the risks colum and then actions one? I'm confused!!!!:

What you need to do is walk around your home and see what risks there are, radiators - temperature, coat hook sticking out at low level, rug on laminate flooring etc etc. Those are your risks then in the actions you put

radiators - check temperature is cool enough to touch. Have thermostat fitted to radiator and check it every day.

rug on laminate flooring - may cause a child to slip, fit anti-slip matting to the bottom and if it still causes a problem roll up and remove during daytime.

I have a page for each room and outing

On each room I list the items within the room and then I have 4 boxes:

EG example attached

Make sure you do the garden and its contents as well

For Outings I do one for walking and one for the car as a basis and then do a separate one for each time I go out

It is a good idea to get down to a childs level and look around as you will see more.

I used the ones on the Bromley childminding site and adapted them to my setting (you don't have to be a member or live in the area) Ofsted liked them
