hi all

i am doing a sponsor day at half term for meningitis research. the theme is bugs. I have a few activities as i am just going to do a big fun day with lots of crafts and baking. i have invited another childminder to join us as i only have 3 mindees aswel as my dd so i want to the numbers up.

I'm after some recipe ideas for lunchtime (sandwiches, nibbles, etc.)

thanks in advance

Look in the recipe section at the top, there is a good ants on a log idea there.

I've done a similar idea with celery, cottage cheese and raisins when we did a theme on 5 little speckled frogs!

You could make bread rolls (use a pack mix  ) and kneed raisins into them to look like squashed flys!

You could get the children to help make biscuits & sell them at the fun day! Decorate them with icing with spiders webs etc??

anything with currants/sultanas in for squashed flies (good in a salad).
slightly flattened meatballs can be spiders or beetles.
those savoury pastry sticks are good as worms or centipedes (you could paint little legs on them with marmite)

Pinwheel sandwiches could be snails.

Cut off crusts, flatten a bit to help rolling. filling - cheese spread/marmite roll up and cut into rounds like a swiss roll ?
