I know that if i start minding i will have to get a new CRB even though i have one already, but just wondering - do people who may visit your house during the day have to have one? eg. your parents? my mum has a habit of dropping in on her way back from work lol. if she would have to get one what would she put in the box that asks you what you do (student/childminder/nursery nurse etc) thats a lot of waffle but didnt know how to phrase it!

I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will help you out but I just wanted to say that my Ofsted Officer said that if my mum was a regular visitor to the house that it wouldn't be a problem.

I think most childminders do get their own family to sign the visitors book which just basically makes sure you can account for every person who has visited your setting and at what time.

Sarah & I must have typed our replies at the same time  because no one else had replied when I started!

I would take Sarah's advice though!!

I believe the crb checks are only for people actually living on the premises.
