Hi most people in my area charge anything between £3.50 and £5 pound! I thought I would charge the following


Basic hourly rate………………………………………⠀¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦ £4.00 ph (Full time)
Hourly rate …………………………………………†¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦. £4.50 ph (part time, school drop off/pick up and nursery hours)
Basic hourly rate for siblings ………………………………………£3.7 5 (full time)
Basic hourly rate for siblings …………………………………… £4.25 (part time)
Full day (7.30am-6pm)……….……………………………… ………£40
Out of hours (before 7.30am & after 6pm)……………… £6.00 ph
Late collections …………………………………………†¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦ £.3.00 per half hour
Late drop off does not constitute late collection.
Child or parent sickness …………………………………………†¦â€¦.. Full fee
Childminder/own children sickness……………………………….. No fee
Child or parent holidays …………………………………………†¦â€¦.. Full fee
Childminder holiday …………………………………………†¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦.. No fee
Extra meals (breakfast and/or dinner) …………………………. £1.50 per meal

WOW that's complicated. I couldn't get away charging those rates around here but I realise rates vary around the country. I charge £3 per hour and £4.80 before 8 and after 6. Just remember if you have several children and you are doing lots of bills (hopefully) you will have complicated bills to work out for each one. Hope that helps. :)

Seems fine to me too.

I prefer an easy life though so have gone for a flat rate between 8am and 6pm. It makes no differance if they are before/after school, all day, part time, siblings, etc.

and me £3.50 ph and I have enough trouble doing one invoice for one family. I would be sure to b***s it up if I had different rates

Sounds like you've thought about it and it suits you so go for it. The only thing I would think about is 'child/parent sickness at no fee' I charge full fee as otherwise you could have children having holiday days but not declaring it and saying they were sick to avoid paying..... Not that people would, but is it worth the risk....
