I have put in my sef that I need to buy some more and I have no idea what I am buying...

at the mo I have

little people bus with multicultural figures and wheel chair

monkey drum and djembe drum and just bought a guiro

the african dolls from vertbuadet

hmmm..... it dont seem much does it

help!!!!

inclusive isn't just about disability, try to think in terms of ability.

for example - Chunkier paintbrushes, crayons, pencil grips, left handed scissors all these help to include all children and aids their attempts therefore ensuring inclusion

how about a globe/atlas,

ooo forgot about books I have the dont call me and the the emma damon/brownjohn ones

I have chunky crayons already and have an atlas on my wall with country information sheets pinned around with strings to the country

i.e spain, picture of flamenco dancer, paella etc

I was thinking more about toys...

I have loads. Off the top of my head I have:

block people ( coloured and disability ones)
finger puppets- asian and african families
wheelchair for dolls/teddies ( from bear factory)
tons of books
dolls
paper dolls ( from makingfriends.com)
instruments
cd's with songs/stories from around the world
multicultural dressing up and play food
happy land
little people
duplo
dolls house family
puzzles

also have multicultural posters on display, a tablecloth with multicultural images on, a box of different photos from around the world for discussion, craft stuff and colouring pictures.

Don't forget inclusive can also mean gender toys such as a girl doll dressed in blue rather than pink - or a jigsaw puzzle/books with female lorry drivers and male hairdressers/househusbands, etc. xxx
