thats still lot money ... why cant all doctors charge one fee instead of having their own fees

i paid £25 - why cant others charge this (or even better bit less) instead its all over the place where ever you go - annoying

hope you can sort things to pay for it hun xx

I totally agree. Its an outrageous amount of money. Dread to think what our doctor will charge. They seem to charge more than any others for things in my past experience so £100 plus here I come

p.s Does your early years team subside it? Am sure that we were told they would pay up to a certain amount towards the cost of health dec. (can't remember amount though). Might be worth checking ?

I don't know how some GP's come up with how much to charge...
Think of a number - double it -then treble it:rolleyes:

It's certainly not fair or right. I'm dreading finding out how much my doctor is going to charge me. They've asked me to bring in the forms and then they'll say lol i haven't got them yet. :)

Blimey I didn't realise people had to pay for them.

My GP did mine for nothing, and he had to fill in an extra form!

My goodness how did they decide on such a huge reduction

That is so disgusting - can't you make an appointment to see the GP and shame him/her into reducing it to a reasonable cost

after reading all your stories about how much you've paid i decided to wait until today -payday- before dropping mine in. Luckily, its only £15. I nearly said "Is that all?" when she said but i refrained incase she changed her mind!

I think its awful that they get away charging so much. And then when they use a childminder they are usually the ones who want to negoitiate fees! Absurd!

Its classed as a private service, so unfortunatley they charge what they want

I was lucky and paid £20, I was expecting £70 as the gp said that it would be the same cost as filling in a private fit for work thing, which it is and isnt really.

I would def make an apt to speak to your gp, say that you are setting up as a childminder and that you are paying and not some private day nursery, then ask them if they have kids and offer them a 10p per hour reduction :p
you never know :D

Hi again :)

Ive finally spoken to my support lady who i had my intro meeting with and she suggested i pick a doctor who has children and give them a sob story about not working (which im not) and that i couldnt possibly afford to pay the cost  So im going to give it a go next week - wish me luck :littleangel:

that's ridiculous charging so much for a quick look at your records!! - which they would do if you went to see them anyway!!

I thought mine would charge £25 - for me and my hubby who is also registered. The doc rang us and send she would send the forms off and my hubby asked her nicely how much we owed her and how we would get it to her and she said that we didn't owe her anything.

Perhaps it was how he spoke to her!!!!!

:D
