Hi there,

Last November I ran through a red light, stupid I know and very unlike me. I've been informed I'll receive 3 points on my licence. I have full no claims bonus and no previous points. I'm beginning to think this may cause problems getting car insurance as a Childminder. Has anyone been in a similar position or know how this is likely to affect me? :(

Points don't cause problems getting insurance, don't worry. They are very common and the insurance companies are very used to it. It may though put your premium up, although this depends on your insurance company.

Thanks I'll stop panicking. I thought the companies might deem me a danger to children for not driving safely.
