I have currently a bmw3 series, also i love it, if i want to do school pick up I will have to have a 7 seater as with my baby's car seat I cannot fit two other car seats at the back.

I was wondering which car you have?

I have a toyota previa and I love it :D

It has good boot space and all 5 back seats are removable (great for holidays or tip runs etc). Toyotas are uber reliable and just run and run IME.

i have a vauxhall zafira. Don't think i'd go for one again though as there is no boot space when all 7 seats are in use. can't fit a double pushchair in.

I have a previa too. Mines an older one, and runs ok - (after a few teething problems...). As said already - huge boot space.

I have the toyota verso and love it, back seats are small but the kids fight to be in them, not much boot space but we looked at most of them and none of them had everything :)

We used to have a BMW 3 series and we too had to change cars especially after third child was born as cannot fit car seats on back row. We got a Toyota Verso 7 seater and loved it, however last year we traded it in for a Yaris - tiny compared to Verso but it is only £35.00 tax a year. It just means we have to walk a lot if there isn't enough room in the car.

The Ford S-Max has had some good reviews and is 7- seats.

I have a Chrysler Grand Voyager. It's fab, plenty of room in the boot (I've had a double and 2 single pushchairs in there before now + bags and stuff) even with all of the 7 seats in.

We had it before I registered but couldn't mind without it now really. Well I could if we never went anywhere - I live right in the sticks.

Shame does no one have a Skoda?

I have an Octavia on my third one and I love it, I can get three full seats across the back seat which has 3 full seat
b elts and they are not short the way the ones in my old Escort were. I can isolate the air bag in the front so I can put a seat there too.

I have the diesel 1.9 6 gear and I get 45-50 normal pottering and up to 60 miles per gallon on a longer run.

The boot is bottomless!!!!!! I can get a twin buggy, a single buggy, assort bags coats and a very large weekly shop in and still have room to spare

Best of all it costs less than all the mentioned above, the insurance and tax are cheap.

Come on fellow Skoda lovers I know you're out there.

I have a Toyota Previa and love it. 8 seats and the back one moves backwards and forwards. Fits in double and single buggies easily but the insurance and petrol costs are high.

i've got a toyota verso.:clapping: ( more and more childminders i know are getting them LOL !!!:D )

we used to have a toyota picnic (6 seater - don't make them any more ... but such a lovely car ) but dh traded it in for hyundai trajet :( (7 seater bus thing .. loathed it BEFORE we bought it! and had loads of problems)

gone back to toyota and i love it! yes, tiny boot if all 7 seats up, but i rarely use all 7 seats. in fact, i do all my school runs by foot, so usually only use 4 seats!

we looked at mazda 5 ( or something -7 seater anyway! ) liked the sliding doors, but couldn't get 3 seats across the back!

i would have been quite happy to go to something that would just take me and 3 littlies, but dh wanted something that would tow a trailer!!!

Kia Sedona - 7 seats nice and roomy, can get a double or a pram (if necessary) into the boot ok. Various car seats fit well.
Insurance and diesel can be quite expensive.

I have a Peugeot 807 its fab. Has automatic doors so if we're running back to the car and its raining I can open the doors before we reach the car and kids can just jump straight in. Also good to open doors before kids are there to get fingers etc caught. I then wait till we're all in and car started before closing all doors. Has 7 seats and boot is a good size too.

I've been looking everywhere for a second hand 7 seater car. Only have £1500 to spend, so its limited to what I can have. I've seen a lot of nissan Serena's around. They have 8 seats! Does anyone know if they're any good?

I knew someone who had one and said they are heavy on the fuel consumption. Might pay you to google the type you have looked at and read up about it or buy a car guide that lists the pros and cons of what you are looking at. It would also give you mpg

Hiya

I have a zafira and am about 90% happy with it. If all 7 seven seats are up - which they are with me - I can't fit a double buggy in the boot. I have 2 under 3's so have 2 of my big car seats in back seats and 3 days of the week I also have another under 3 for a few hours so that seat goes in the middle - baby seats in the back fit better than the normal middle row (for it being a family car - the problems I had getting a seat that did not have 'buckle crunch' was amazing - had a huge problem getting seats to fit this car) the guy from Halfords said they are better in the back. What I do now is put the double buggy in the very front passenger seat.

Also means by putting baby seats at very back, I can move the middle seats back and forward.

Couple of the girls in my childminding group have Seat Alhambra and they look good - not sure if anyone else has them that could advise.

Good luck
Tracey

I have a VW Touran and love it I managed to find a double buggy that goes in the boot with all 7 seats in use (as I couldn't fit the original pushchair in!!) Its great on fuel consumption. I had a galaxy but spent a fortune on petrol although I really liked it.

I bought the Nissan Serena yesterday (a.k.a fun bus!). It's SOOOOOOO big which I'm not used to. I have never driven anything bigger than a fiesta before!

It's light green and looks like the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo but the kids love it and were singing Fun Bus all the way to school this morning!!!

There's little boot space with the seats up but I think u would get a double buggy in it. Although I haven't got one yet. :(

escort estate!!!!!!! i WISH i could have a people carrier - would cost no more than my car no (£201 car tax/yr - its a 1.6). but i can fit 3 seats in the back no problem (just in the right combo!!) as one of my seats can be used with a lap belt.
BUT, in my previous job we had mpv's - ford galaxys, 7 seats - cant really go wrong with these.

peugot 807 - 8 seater - lovely car but had to get used to the handbrake being to the right of the driver!!! 2 front, 3 seperate middle row seats and a 2 seater bench seat in the back that you can move forward and back and fold down.
my mum n dad have just bought (almost new)a mazda 5, 7 seater - they love it - seats individually fold down without the need to take them out. i presume flat as they put 2 dogs in the back! as its new it is in the new car tax rules and low-ish tax for a large car (less than mine anyway!!!)
well if i had my perfect car it'd be a landrover defender - love 'em!!
(miss my discovery - only had it 3 months before some idiot wrote it off whilst it was parked outside my house - off road!!!!!)
hey ho! euro millions tonight!! lol :)

I have got a Zafira, but would love a vw touran. Really like the look of them. I do think the zafira is ok though. I recently purchased a phil and teds pushchair and one of the main reasons was because it will fit in with all 7 seats up. You do have to take the wheels off though. Like someone else has said the car seats do fit better on the very back seats and it does mean you can stilll slide the middle seats. But all in all it serves it's purpose. Oh dear you've got me wishing for a new car now, got no chance this year:laughing:
