The children I look after range from 7 months to 15 years.

We are doing My Body and My Health this half-term focusing on healthy eating, dental, handwashing, excercise and using tissues properly. Of course, all of this underpins daily pracce all year long but we're adding emphasis over the next 6 weeks. (well, 5 weeks now)

What a lot of great ideas! Thank you. Having said that, my little one - who is 3 today - just isn't interested in doing anything apart from free play. He plays with the cars for a while and then goes off them and at the moment he's very much into role play. He's big into Fireman Sam and he's funny cos he was well away one day a couple of weeks ago, in his own little world and he saw me watching and went all embarrassed - at his age! Now I play with him and we go and put fires out and use the chair as Jupiter and we rescue people, on Friday we were in a racing car (the armchair again) and he told me to get in quick which I did of course and then he said "Sue, you didn't even open the door!" and he gives me a very old fashioned look so I had to get out again and open the door to get in!!!! It's all there in his little head! It's the only time he doesn't look bored so ok by me. He never wants to paint or anything.

Carolyn and I work closely with the village Nursery , so that the children who attend both settings don't have to do a repeat activity, we follow the same theme, but do different activities
