Well i stopped smoking for the new year, something i thought i wouldnt do as it never bothered me too much. I only had one cigarette in the morning and about 3 in the evening as i never smoked during the day. I think im doing quite well so far, however, the diet is not going as well lol, but i supposed il have to take one thing at a time. Hope everyone else is doing well with quitting whatever they are quitting. Good luck

There is no way you will be able to diet and stop smoking at the same time if my friends who have stopped are anything to go by.

best take it slowly.

For once i disagree with Sarah LOL!

According to Alan Carr (the guru of quitting) you should only put on a bit because during the first couple of weeks after quitting your metabolism slows, then goes back to normal (however this can be combatted by a bit of excercise...so no excuse really) & the only other reason to put on weight after quitting is if you substitute food for ciggies...if you find yourself doing this use sugar free gum instead.

You can do it!:clapping:

Hi, hope it's going well and today is a good day.:)
I know exactly how you are feeling. I gave up in July 2008 and put 21lb on
If it's any consolation I'm finding that after nearly 6 months my appetite is easier to keep under control and I'm slowly losing the craving to eat all the time, only smoked like yourself, 1 in morning, none during day and then maybe 3 or 4 at night. It does get easier.
Visited a friend (heavy smoker) the other night that I'd not seen since giving up and hated smelling of smoke when I got home, but didn't give in to temptation even thought it looked good every time she lit up lol

Alan Carr does a diet book as well...

I imagine it tells you all the nasties that overeating does to your body and then says carry on with the cream cakes all the time he's going on about furred arteries and extra strain on heart muscles :panic:
