It's a lot of money isn't it. Mine was £85 and I know some people on here have paid more than that.:panic:

I think you can claim some of it back with your start up grant. You get that once you are registered but I'm not 100% sure as I'm not registered myself yet. I'm sure someone on here will have the right advice for you.

I can't remember .........but I'm sure that I put it as part of the start up cost - as indeed it is.

we get up to £40 back towards doctors and £160 for membership to ncma luckily mine was only £16.

if they r charging £55/£85 what do they actually earn in a year??? their hourly rate must be ridiculous (but then they do train for x amount of years)

We get a big fat nothing round here when we register!

My doctors charged me £80 for my report.

You can put it through your books when you are registered though so although you dont actually get the cash back, its less money to give the tax man!

In my first year ( well 4 months really till I did my first tax return) I made a loss of £300 due to all my start up costs!

You can claim it back on your start up claim form, but its a shame they're charging so much! I was told it's down to the individual doctor as to what they charge, so I took mine along when I had an appointment and he did it for nothing....I did smile sweetly:blush:
Perhaps you could try that:D

My doctor wants to charge £84 :( Seems shameless that different doctors charge such different amounts! Im not entitled to a start up grant either (east anglia) :(

Mine was £85 too, and we don't get any grant here either. It is shocking.

Mine was £18 and the Dr billed the early year department direct so I didn't have to pay out and then claim back.

Hi,

They definately pay for it where I am but there is a limit to what they will pay, its worth inquiring about though,
