I have been advertising since september and was just contimplating going to work for a nursery when just before xmas I had two enquiries for childminding. One is coming to see me in January and is looking for a full time baby place. The other one came to see me today and was 3 hours late as she overslept but she signed a contract. She only wants 10 hours a week for her 17 month old which is'nt great but she is 6 months pregnant and wants me to have her baby from 1 month old so she can go back to work:clapping:
Means I have back up if my other enquiry does'nt come to me or I might have to try for a variation. So glad because if I took a job at the nursery I would have had to put my eldest into child care during the holidays this way I get to spend time with him instead.

Kerry.

Good news. It's always a relief when you finally have someone in place. I struggled last year when I started but got there in the end. Enquiries in my area seem to come in spurts, we get four or five at once then nothing for ages.

Good luck.

Thanks for the lovely replies.

The nursery does open all year round but they did'nt want people asking for their children over 4 years old to go there so they said that I would have to make other arrangements for him. On the good side it means I might get some interest for school holiday care as there are no holiday clubs near by.

That is great news.
I am still waiting to hear back from the 2 that came a week before christmas. I just hate the waiting game as I really need a full timer as I am losing one middle of next weeek which will leave me with just one minde that I have 1 day a week & babysitting him 2 nights.
Oh well
