A lovely poem someone brought into pre-school to give me. I thought it captured the philosophy of working with parents beautifully. hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did. I'll be putting this in my next newsletter as well as putting a copy up on the board!

I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there.
The clay they used was a child's mind,
they fashioned it with care.

One was a teacher
and the tools she used
were books, music and art.

One was a parent
with a guiding hand
and a gentle, loving heart.

Day after day, the teacher toiled
with a touch that was strong and sure,
while the parent laboured by her side
with a heart that was clear and pure.

And when at last their task was done,
they stood proud of what they had wrought.
For the things they had moulded into the child
Could neither be sold nor bought.

And each agreed they would have failed
if they had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school
and behind the teacher, the home.

Thanks for that. I have printed it off and am going to get my kids to add a hand drawn picture, then laminate it as a Christmas gift to their teachers.
