A reception child asked her teacher "Where do babies come from" and the teacher answered "It depends on what the doctor decides". That was enough for the child who went off playing happily

Early Learning has a good one years ago but I am not sure if it is still there.

Books are great, i stacked up on lots when i was pregnant with DD just incase DS asked but he never did! His favorite story was theres a house inside my mummy, which i thought was fantastic too!

I don't know what all the fuss is about why can't they just be open and bluntly tell the child the truth ....... everyone knows that babies come from under a cabbage plant at the end of the garden

Depends if you're a boy or a girl!! Boys are in cabbages and girls in rose bushes!!! maybe that explain the futur smelly feet and feisty (can't spell it:blush: ) temper!!:D

My kids all loved there's a house inside Mummy's tummy too!

When I was pregnant with ds, eldest dd was 5 at the time...I explained it to her like this:

It's a bit like baking, some of the ingredients come from Daddy & some from Mummy, God mixes them all up & puts them in Mummy's tummy...Mummy's tummy is like the oven, a warm place (& comfy too) ... for the baby to grow in (just like the bread & cakes we make grow in the oven)...when the baby's ready a Dr/nurse called a midwife helps to take the baby out of Mummy's tummy, (like mummy helps you take the things you make out of the oven)...

Hope that helps.:)

Blaze thats a lovely explanation :clapping:

I have just ordered a book called theres a home inside my mummys tummy - to try & talk to my dd & mindee (mindee's mum is also pregnant). Hasn;t arrived yet but could let you know what I think once its here.

Maybe take a trip to the library for some books aswell?

A friend has two adopted children so when the older boy was asked at school if he knew where babies come from he answered, Yes - Bradford!
