Hi everyone!

Hope youre all ok!

I have a heart murmur (hole in my heart) which results in me always being cold, so I have the heating on most of the time at the moment especially.

So anyway, just wanted your advice on what is an adequate play room temp for the children, as I dont want them getting too hot.

The reason I am asking is I moved into my new house in July, and this is my first winter in it, and its an 1902 semi detached, so its a lot older than my old house, and I can really feel the difference, temperature wise.

Many thanks in advance

K

sorry to hear about your condition, but if the children are not running around and have drinking water available warm is good and they can always take off their jumpers,,prents will also understand xxx

Fab thanks, its ok, have had my heart condition since I was born, I just get very cold, also as Ive moved to a new house (but an older house than I lived in) I can feel the cold more here, so just wanted some advice on what you thought.

The kids all have their own water bottles in my house, so help themselves x

Not sure on the regs where you are but the welsh day care regulations just say a room should be adequately heated so I guess that is kind of subjective. I also have a medical condition at the moment which is making me feel the cold so my heating is on full blast all the time. I would say that as long as the children don't look uncomfortable then it is fine.

According to my temp chart then between 16C and 20C is normal. Now I personally find 16C freezing for inside the home even with a jumper on so I tend to kee the main rooms at around 20C. If I'm feeling a little cold I have some reusable handwarmers that you click a little metal plate in and some sort of chemical reaction occurs. I stick on of those in my waistband at the small of my back and I'm suddenly toasty

My themostat is in the hall and usually at 17/18. Put up to 20 if it gets to temp and I am getting chilly. My house is terraced and keeps heat in! :)

When I was a child I lived in a detached bungalow and mum and dad couldn't afford to keep heating on much. I had chilblains on my fingers and toes every winter(ice on the inside of windows !) :(

Moved away at 17 and never had chilblains again! :)
