Hi everyone my name is kelly. I have just became a childminder i donot childmind for anyone at the moment, However somebody wants me to mind there twins 8 months old. I have already a 21 month old and a 4 year old i know that there wouldent be enough spaces but they so make exceptions for siblings. I wasant sure if you have to be experienced for them to approve of this??

Hello and welcome:)

There are exceptions (for under 1yr rule) made for twins but it would be down to your OFSTED inspection team to make a decision to increase numbers for this. It is worth asking and seeing what they say but you will have to show that you can meet the needs of all the children. Also it is normally granted for continuity of care

Apply to Ofsted and see what happens. I have an inspector coming round on Tuesday to talk about my variation request to have 2 under 1's. If you don't ask you won't get!
