Do you ever try to get items free that are offered in relation to education or childcare and are told that it is only available to schools or nurseries and childminders cannot apply?

It really annoys me, we are all working within EYFS so why can't childminders be treated the same?

I would like to do something about this and would like to compile a list of thoses sites that do not support childminders. So, if you can add them to this thread I will do my best to try to get things changed!

 go get them

Didn't Sainsbury mess around accepting minders and their vouchers?

Didn't Sainsbury mess around accepting minders and their vouchers?

Yes I had lengthy chats with Sainsburys and ended up quoting 'discrimination' at them - eventually they agreed that I could 'just this once' be accepted onto their scheme. At the end of the day Tescos accept childminders so therefore Sainsburys should as well.....

Thanks Pauline

All the supermarkets will only let schools join in with their vouchers so maybe you could contact them?

There are a few useful resources on this site ( below )

I have tried to send off for them in the past but they are not available to " childminders "

You can print and download some of their resources but not all

This one pack looks really good

http://www.btbetterworld.com/pg/developing_skills/free_resources/The_People_Who_Help_Us_Classroom_Pack/home.ikml

It does not state that this is just free for schools - yet I tried it a few weeks ago and they said no to me
