Hi, Son was 16 a couple of days ago.

This morning was just reading the new posts like I do every morning when the letters CRB stood out at me!!!

Do I need to apply for son to be checked - can I still carry on working while it is being done?

Yes you need to get it done for him right away.

But i think you are fine to carry on working, obv dont leave him on own in room with them for his own protection more than anything x

^^^ Good advice above. Anyone over 16 in family or in close contact with you during the day needs a crb check. If I remember correctly you don't have to stop working but as Minstrel says I wouldn't leave him in room alone with children, for his own protection until crb comes back.

Will have 4 children aged 5,6, 10 and 11 here for 1 hour today so will take that advice.

It completely slipped my mind.

Silly question but save me looking does anyone know how I go about it? Don't worry if no one knows I can look it up once I have finished work.

I had my son crb done last year when he was 16, I was still able to work. If I remember the forms were sent to me without me requesting them, I had downloaded them.

The forms arrived this morning. So that's 1 thing less to worry about/apply for.

So much paperwork - so little time lol

Thanks for all your replies yesterday. :)

Still waiting for my twin sons crb forms. They were 16 a week ago and I phoned OFSTED who said they send them out automatically now...they are called EY2 forms now! .

Where we are CSSIW don't send the forms automatically you have to request them. DD was 16 at the end of August and it has taken me until now to get enough ID evidence together:panic: Combination of passport expiring, birth certificate not issued with 12 months of birth and also held up with her EMA application. My Inspector was fine as she knew it was in hand
