hi all
im new here so hope you can all help.
i am going to be starting minding soon and was wondering whether my own children count in my ratios if thier father is here?

yes they will! unless he is reg as a assistant

Hello Gemma

Yes they do. Even if you send them to their grandparents for the day they still count! The number of children stated on your certificate is the amount of minded children you can have.

Even if he's registered as an assistant or childminder in his own right they might not up your numbers.

Is your hubby going to be around 24 hours a day to take full responsibility for them? If so Ofsted may not put them in your numbers. He would have to be the sole carer all the time you are minding.

yeah, your children will count in your ratios as they need your attention

just to clear this up, your children will not count in the ratios listed on your certificate, however they will have influenced the numbers you are allowed to care for.

I.E. if your cert says 3 under 5s and you have 2 4year olds, you can still mind 3 children aswell as your own..
