Well I have had two enquiries so far from shift workers wanting me to start between 6.30am and 6.45am, this actually suits me as I am up and dressed by then any way.

My alarm goes off at 5.45am but I snooze it twice till 5.55am then put the TV on and watch GMTV till 6.10am. Then its up, shower, hairwash, then downstairs for a cuppa in peace till first mindee turns up at 6.45 followed closely by two others at 7, then another at 7.15 and two more at 7.30.

By 8am I'm knackered!!!

Mine arrives anytime after 7.30 so I'm up at 6.15 as I'm awake anyway. I'm a early riser so wouldn't mind having an early starter.

I hope I am not going to upset anyone with the time I start, at the moment the earliest I start is 9.00a.m., I don't have to do a school run or anything like that, I get up about 7.30a.m., get my husband off to work at about 8.00a.m. and then take a look at what we are doing during the day and sort things out. Only one comes at 9.00, another comes at about 10.30 (Mum is on maternity leave) and another will come at 11.30 after school nursery, and he is brought to me by his Mum. The latest I usually have any of them is 5.30, so my hours worked some days are not very long compared to some of you, although it is hard work as two of them are quite severly disabled and have complex problems.
Anyway after almost 25 years of it I think I deserve some easier times.
Although saying that my waiting list for next year is for 3 babies (at the moment) and when they all start they will all be around 13,14 months old so that will be fun, but the hours will be almost the same as now.
Lets hope it lasts and works out as I hope it does, but as we all know, looking after children is never a 9 - 5 job especially with irresponsible parents who like to use us as skivvys some times.
Sorry for the long post and I am not gloating honest.

We have quite a lot of early birds then.

My first one arrives at 7.15 - 7.30 depending on who drops him off.

It is getting more and more difficult to get out of bed in the mornings now it's dark, cold and damp.

Like teacake, I start later, I don't get my lo's till 9:15. They go home at 2:45 and it's 3 days a week. It's exactly how I like it. I've been doing this for many years now too and I just don't want the school run, I've done my bit with my own kids and the lo's I looked after since 1987. I see other cm's going past my house in the cold and pouring rain and I feel so sorry for them.:(

My first are due to arrive at 8:00 so I usually get up between 7:00 and 7:15. Invariably they always arrive 5 or 10 minutes early though.

My first ones now arrive at 8.00 or 8.10 depending on the day, so I set the alarm for 7.00, but it's usually 20 past before I actually get up ( sound familiar! )
Used to have one whose parents sometimes had an early start, like 6.30, which I didn't mind except when they booked it and then didn't turn up
