Do you all have carbon monoxide checkers and where did you get them from?

I have one by my gas cooker and one by my boiler.

I change it every 4 months as it's dated :D

I've got two battery operated ones and they have a red light on to show its working, one in the lounge near the fire, not that it gets used, very often (just for romantic nights ;) so maybe once a year  ) and then one upstairs by the boiler. I got ours off e-bay.

I have one by my boiler. I got it off British Gas online. It was much cheaper online than buying the same one from British Gas direct when they came to service the boiler.:)

I have a battery operated one in the hallway (has to be a certain distance from the boiler).

I got mine from Lloyds chemist when they had them on special offer and paid about £12 for it I think.

is it compulsory, or just good practice. I hadn't given it any thought to be honest

I think that you have to see it like you do a smoke alarm iyswim.

It is a very important device that you can buy for very little money that could easily save your lives.

you don't have to buy a battery operated one......you can buy the cheaper disposable ones but I just got fed up with keep having to buy them and took the opportunity when I saw a permanent one going cheap!

We have a battery operated one halfway up the stairs.

It went off a couple of months ago.

We got british gas out and the flue thing in the loft had fallen down and the loft was filling with carbon minoxide :panic: :panic: We had it mended there and then but would never of known there was a problem without it. I cant even think about what might of happened.

Ours was from B&Q and cost about £20. Money very well spent.

Not much need in my house as the gas mains stops about 5 miles down the road:D
