a business account  :clapping:

with Barclays, she gave me LOADS of stuff including some software to produce invoices for parents, and to do my daily accounts on so it's easy to do my end of year tax thingie
i also have a seperate savings account to transfer 20% of my weekly earnings to cover any tax bill, and then if it's not needed i can use it to buy more things for the kids :clapping:

also have it so all my stuff is backed up so if my laptop gets broken i don't lose all my finance documents

Sounds great - do they charge you to run the account?

free for the first 18 months

then it's £20 a month after that but can be put through as a business expense :D and it saves me worrying about losing all my hard work if my laptop breaks and i lose all my stuff. get 24 hour support too :clapping:

be careful both myself and one of my mindees parents (they also self employed) had business accounts with barclays free for first 18 months when this time had passed their charge jumped to £200 per week so now we both bank with natwest

When your 18 mths is nearly up open a Abbey National one as they don't charge as such a couple of restrictions about how many cheques etc can be paid in a month but it is fine for childmidners and no charges after a length of time

Personally after all the hassle I've had I wouldn't touch Barclays with a bargepole. Give me Nationwide anyday

I just use a normal saving acccount - I personaly don't see that benifits for the extra cash:blush:

As long as I have somewhere to put the money & of course accessable again to spend, i'm happy :clapping:
