View Full Version : Oh am petrified!!!

Hi my name is Emma,
Im just starting childminding and am waiting for my 1st inspection! Im 26 and have 2 children of my own! Jake who is soon to be 6 and Rebecca who is 2 tomorrow (dosnt time fly!!!). I also live with my partner..... Noel who is going under as my assistant to allow him to have as much protection as i do as well all know how some discruntled (sp?) parents can turn................ yes ive heard the horrer stories!!
as to pet well we have a lab, a g.pig,a cat and 6 hens so bit of a zoo (should give ofsted something to pic at I suppose!)

oh well I think Ive board you all enough, just thought I would intorduce myself and to say how pleased I am to have found this site and that I am not getting very nervouse as its getting closer to being real then just a thought of becomming a childminder!!!!! :eek: :eek:

Is it going to be your pre - reg I think that is what you mean anyway

Do not worry they are there to help you and tell you what you need etc
If you look around this area of the forum you will see the type of things they look for
Do not panic

as already said don't be petrified just get as organised as you can

if ofsted make reccomendations just act on them

this site will be great for hints and tips for you

Yes I meant to say it sounds like you have a zoo haha

I have a black lab and 2 rabbits - just make sure you let them know you are aware of dangers with animals - safety - food will be kept away from the children - unless you let them feed the animals with you with your supervision
You will need a pet policy

If you go to the Bromley website it will give you an idea of what policies you are going to need

Welcome & good luck! It's a journey that, so far for me has been both exciting & scary and I'm not even registered yet!!! Although I am only a hair's breath away (God willing) Just enjoy the ride.
