Get together with some of childminders who go to the same school as you - speak to the head of the school very nicely and ask if you can produce a flyer to go home with all children advertising the services of the Reg'd minders who "service" the school.

We have done this - there is 5 of us who want to be on the leaflet and the agreement is that we all dib in for printing costs and if any of us get an enquiry that we can't do we plug the other minders on the list first and foremost.
Head teacher is in agreement to this and sending them out 2/3 times a year

Seeing as it was my idea I get to put my name at the top of the list (and I am doing up the draft one as well)

Also a few groups like Scouts/Brownies/Imps and the local church have agreed to send them home too:thumbsup:

Nothing to stop you standing at the school gates handing out flyers!!!! Our school have a local Montessori group within the school (but not associated with) and their own nursery but thankfully our head is very into forging links with the community especially other childcare providers.

We had to fight with our head to do this even though he was letting 2 after school clubs advertise. He seemed to be under the impression that we were only talking about a couple of children. We pointed out that the after schools collected about 15 children and as there were 8 of us collecting about 3 children each and that he wasnt giving parents a choice and it looking like he was promoting the after schools, especially as one of them had sponsered the cake stall at the school fair  We now have a mention in the newsletter and (along with the after-schools) have a table advertising at new parent and all parent's evenings.
