i've got an idea for my christmas display!

my mum works in a card shop and they are selling little ornamental fireplaces with little hooks on them and then you can buy little stockings with names on them to hang on. was going to get one for my mindees but they all have strange names so you can't get them!! anyway it me an idea.

i'm going to make a large fireplace - sponge painting bricks?!
and then get all mindees to make/decorate a stocking - older ones can sew felt ones from 'yellow moon' and younger ones can decorate a paper one - then put their names on and 'hang' them on the fireplace!!

might also draw a xmas tree and 'hang' handmade 2D decorations on it!

We make a Christmas tree every year using the children's handprints ( in green ) it looks very effective.

Butterfly what chain of card shop sells these fireplaces. I was at a retail outlet yesterday and they were sold out and said they cannot get any more in. I got the stockings just need to know where to look for the fireplace. :)
